He currently manages several companies dedicated to organic farming and olive oil production, tourism and trade, all of which are strongly committed to sustainability, particularly in environmental and social terms. He is the father of four children and an enthusiast of mountain biking, running, yoga and meditation – practices he considers essential for mental and physical wellbeing. We therefore put the following question to Joaquim Moreira, a producer of organic olive oil in Vila Flor, Trás-os-Montes; to Nuno Santos, president of Casa do Azeite – the Portuguese Olive Oil Association, to Fernando do Rosário, president of AIFO – the Interprofessional Association of the Olive Sector, and to Gonçalo Moreira, manager of Olivum – the Association of Olive Growers and Oil Mills of Portugal. The answers are quite diverse, as usual, but reveal a wide consensus in terms of confidence in the sector’s prospects.
